Meditation – A holistic way of realizing your Self.
With the increased stress levels and high competition in all spheres of life, people remain disturbed mentally. This mental chaos results in physical tiredness. The entire cycle can prove dangerous to our health and hence it is important to identify the tell tale signs and deal accordingly with these.
What exactly is Meditation?
It is a holistic way of leading life peacefully and happily. When you meditate, you experience calmness from within and are able to take rational solutions to problems and deal with them with ease. Many a times, in this fast paced life, we tend to take our mind and body for granted and are in the rat race for achieving materialistic comfort which is temporary in nature.
We need to rise beyond these and reflect on ourselves towards achieving real happiness and bliss. At times, even modern day experienced yoga practitioners of preachers of meditation are not able to identify the practical problems faced by people living in the city. The maddening crowd along with speedy lifestyle adds to the already existing problems. Hence, the need for meditation.
Remaining Aware of our self
Just like food for the body, meditation is food for the soul. We need to create a self awareness and recognize the needs of our mind to be mentally happy and at peace. The commotion around us makes us difficult to meditate and relax. Hence, meditation should always be in calm and a relaxed surrounding, so that you are able to get maximum benefit out of it. Make sure to get away from the day interruptions life puts forth and make time for yourself. If you can have time for everyone and every work, you need to set aside some time for yourself. This gears you to do other activities with renewed vigor and strength.
A strong mind and self awareness
Meditation helps in increasing our awareness and also creates a healthy mind and body. When the mind is in tangent with work and not happy doing something, there is stress. Hence, make sure to love what you do and do what you love. Though, it may appear a little philosophical, it will help you greatly in the long run.
A simple example of this is that if you are busy tallying accounts in the office and your mind drifts to the school where you have to pick up children after the school hours, you are surely going to make mistakes when tallying figures. If you are into the habit of meditation, then your body will not be uncomfortable when your mind sends our signals, in fact you will be in a better position to analyze the situation and act accordingly with elimination of stress.
When you are able to cope your mind and bring it to the meditation state, things becomes simpler and you are able to do things that appeal you. Similarly, meditation helps you go into a beautiful trance and you feel things beautiful and appealing. All this is possible because you have trained your mind to remain concentrated without getting stressed.
